Films So Bad, That They’re Actually Amazing

Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959){R}

Aliens raise zombies to stop mankind from creating a Doomsday weapon.

Why You Should Watch It: Plan 9 is a labour of love. Ed Wood genuinely thought he was creating a masterpiece every single part of this film is endearing, from the obvious strings in the UFOs to the replacing of the late Bela Lugosi with an actor who looked nothing like him and merely hid behind a cloak to hide this. Where most bad films are the result of laziness, Plan 9 is the result of a director reaching beyond his means to try and create something lasting for cinema. That he succeeded, if not in the way he hoped, is a testament to him and his love of film.
