There was some surprising results in the weekends premier league fixtures with Crystal Palace beating Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford. Newcastle also came up with a shock result after a disappointing start to the season, beating Spurs 1-0 at White Hart Lane with new signing Joelington scoring the only goal of the game. Liverpool beat Arsenal in the game of the weekend with goals from Joel Matip and a double from Mohamed Salah including a penalty for a David Luiz shirt pull. Lucas Torreira scored a consolation for Arsenal late on. The Gunners had their chances throughout the game with new signing Nicolas Pepe spurning a good chance to put them 1-0 up. Elsewhere Aston Villa got their first points of the season, beating Everton 2-0 on Friday night, Chelsea won 3-2 at Norwich, West Ham beat struggling Watford 3-1, Leicester won 2-1 at newly promoted Sheffield United, Southamton beat 10 man Brighton 2-0, Wolves equalised late on to draw 1-1 with Burnley and Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3-1.
Last night, Dundalk beat UCD 3-0 in the Airtricity League Premier Division thanks to a double from Michael Duffy and a goal from Patrick Hoban.
