Hiram Harrington takes home Film Script of the Year at 2019 Smedias

Trinity College student Hiram Harrington was successful at the 2019 Smedia awards, winning Film Script of the Year, a category sponsored by Screen Ireland. Congratulations to Hiram for the fantastic achievement

Screen Ireland, also know as The Irish Film Board has supported Irish film since 1993. It has funded films such as Brooklyn, The Wind That Shakes the Barley as well as the oscar winning Once.

To present the award on the night we had award winning director Robbie Walsh. Robbie’s first film,Eden was the first Irish production ever to win a prize at the L.A Movie awards. His films have also been shown at the Cannes and Portobello film festivals. We would like to express our gratitude to Robbie for giving up his time to present the award and for his wonderful and inspirational speech.

Screen Ireland have been recognised across the globe at Film Festivals and have also supported smaller productions. We feel that this makes them a very appropriate sponsor for this category. We would like to thank Screen Ireland for their hugely important work supporting and funding productions and of course for sponsoring our award.
