We are delighted to have Griffith College partnering with us again this year to bring you the Feature Writer of the Year: News and Current Affairs award.

Griffith College is Ireland’s largest independent third-level institution with locations in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, many of Griffith’s former students have gone on to enjoy distinguished careers in Ireland and internationally, in fields as diverse as design, law, media, music and business.

Griffith College offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including a selection of undergraduate, MA and postgraduate diploma degrees in subjects such as TV and Radio Journalism, Journalism and Media Communications, and Journalism and Public Relations. Judges will be looking for authoritative criticism that offers a fresh, illuminating view of a news or current affairs story.

This prize is awarded to the best student features writer of the year covering news and current affairs. This can include campus, national, and international news. Judges will be looking for analytical skills and a fluent and compelling writing style.

Submit three articles published in student media since February 2023. We would prefer you to include a link to your article but if you are unable, please upload a pdf of your article. If you have any problems with submitting your work get in touch with us at smedias@generationy.ie.

Submissions open 26th February 2024 and close 7th March 2024.
