To those who choose to have an affair and are looking to go that extra mile, look no further as a Coldplay Jumbotron might be the only way to do it these days.
CEO of Astronomer, Andy Byron and Chief People Officer (ironic), Kriston Cabot were seen (obviously not supposed to, from their exaggerated reaction) cuddling during a Coldplay concert.
You may think, maybe someone from the company spotted them, maybe someone recorded them and posted it online, these predictions are far from what actually occurred, with the help of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
Within the blink of an eye, the two lovebirds were projected onto the screen for thousands to see. The two immediately split from each other, Cabot turns away whereas Byron may as well have leaped over the railing with how dramatic his head fell down to the floor.
Chris Martin pointed out this odd reaction by saying, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” Chris’ comment, layered with the reaction caused social media to investigate who the two people were which has spiralled into a viral controversy.
Since the concert, Byron has released a statement where he not only blames himself but blames Coldplay for the outing of his very public and affectionate behaviour with Cabot.
“I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else’s life into a spectacle.” He then goes on to quote a Coldplay lyric at the end of the statement, keeping on theme with the entire spectacle.
During a Kiss Cam segment of the show, maybe try not to hold your concert buddy too close, otherwise Chris Martin might think you’re a genuine couple because who would be stupid enough to go with their affair buddy, and also fellow employees who are well aware of said affair?
