This year, RTÉ will be sponsoring another category – Radio Journalist of the Year- at the National Student Media Awards! We can’t wait for the event on April 28th, so keep your eyes peeled for the nominees announcement on the website!
RTÉ provides comprehensive, independent and impartial broadcasting on television, radio, online and via mobile. They provide access to the latest news, sport, entertainment, business, lifestyle, culture in Ireland and around the world.
Once again, we are delighted to be working with RTÉ and are looking forward to judging the wide variety of excellent media entered into this category. Awarded to the best student radio journalist of the year reporting on news and current affairs, Radio Journalist of the Year submissions can include pieces focused on campus, national and international news.
Judges will be looking for an ability to dig out original information and present it with imagination and style, and the segments must be produced expressly for broadcast on student radio.
Previous winners of this award have gone to work for radio stations such as Newstalk, Today FM and 98FM.
