After the announcement of a host of new cast members, the internet is awash with excitement around Margot Robbie’s much-anticipated Barbie movie. With Greta Gerwig directing from a script written by herself and her husband/ writing partner Noah Baumbach, this just might be the movie of the year.
The movie currently boasts a star studded cast including Ryan Gosling as Ken, Emma Mackey of Sex Education fame (who many people have noted looks very similar to Robbie), Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon and Michael Cera.
Robbie has promised to provide audiences with a fresh perspective on the character, admitting that Barbie comes with a lot of baggage, but insisting that the film presents an opportunity for reinvention.
The filming for the movie began in London early this year and is scheduled for release in 2023.
While we don’t get have a trailer for the film, we can’t wait to see the magic that the Gerwig/Robbie team will bring to the screen…
