That’s a wrap for The National Student Media Awards 2021, and what night was it was! UCD student Anna-Clare Nic Gairbheith came out on top in the Irish writing category, sponsored by Foras na Gaeilge.
The Irish language is hugely important in terms of the culture and history of Ireland. Since its beginning in 1999, Foras na Gaeilge have been committed to helping promote the Irish language, especially through education and the media.
By sponsoring this award Foras na Gaeilge gives third-level students a fantastic opportunity to have their work recognised and judged by industry professionals. It also gives them the opportunity to get introduced to other student writers, which builds their network and increases their chances of work opportunities in the future.
