Oxygen.ie is one of Ireland’s leading student websites and has been around since 1998, when the internet was still on its baby legs.
As Oxygen is a website aimed at students, it is students that help us shape the website and deliver the top-quality content that has kept the site running for almost 20 years.
If you think you have what it takes to write for Ireland’s longest-running student website, let us know! We’re always on the lookout for fresh talent.
Why write for us?
Since you’d be a contributor, all your collaboration with us would be over the internet. This means that you can work whenever you have free time, and from anywhere you happen to be: college, home, the train, a Jacuzzi. It’s up to you!
We are reputable
Although we make it as easy as possible for our contributors to send us their work, we don’t just publish anything. If your work is absolutely awful, we’ll tell you (nicely). As stated above, we are one of Ireland’s leading student websites, and have been around since 1998. We’ll publish just about anyone, but we won’t publish just anything.
It’s great experience
At Oxygen, we don’t just take your work and put it up. You’ll get back notes, edits, tips, and suggestions to help you improve and hone your skills. Furthermore, being published on a website like Oxygen will not only bulk up the aul’ C.V., it will also serve as a platform for you to showcase your abilities to future employers. Whatever field it is you plan to get into, Oxygen can help you get your foot in the door. Want to showcase your style? Think you have intelligent political insights, but nowhere to voice them? Or maybe you think you’re the next Brent Pope. Whatever you want to do, Oxygen can help.
What we want
Oxygen is a website made for students by students, so the content we put up is aimed at the kind of things you yourself want to read. We cover a wide range of subjects, such as music festivals, blockbuster movies, sports, style, fun news, satire, and political issues that affect students. There’s something for everyone, so if you’re interested in writing, we’re interested in reading.
If you’re interested in writing for us, simply email your work or questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you’re interested in interning as a section editor for the site, send on your CV (in PDF format), along with a short cover letter and the section of the site you think you would be fit to oversee.
