Today is known as ‘Blue Monday’ a day when everyone starts to remember what they were doing this time last month, getting ready for Christmas, going to parties or just enjoying time off work, so here at Oxygen we’ve come up with 6 ways you can beat the blues on ‘Blue Monday’

1. Blast Your Favourite Song

Our personal fave right now is Ariana Grande’s new song ‘7 Rings’. We’ve been playing it on repeat non-stop and I’ve totally forgot its Monday, or for 2 minutes at least!



2. Look At Pics Of Gorgeous Doggos.

There’s nothing better than looking at some adorable doggos to help cheer up anyone’s day and Dogs Trust are turning Blue Monday into #YellowMonday by asking people to tweet pictures of their furry friends, how cute!

3. Treat Yo’ Self

4. Give Yourself A Hug

Today just so happens to be ‘Hugging Day’ too so give yourself, a friend in need or even your pet they’re great for a good cuddle too!


5. Be Kind

Try to remember its just another day and you can get through it. Be kind to yourself, go for a walk, go for lunch with a friend. Or even do something nice for someone else, like making a cup of tea for your work colleague.


6. It’s Okay To Not Be Okay

Although Blue Monday is really just a gimmick, a lot of people find this time of year really hard. Remember, its Okay to not be Okay so talk to a friend, parent, loved one or pick up the phone. There are so many organizations out there that can help. Aware, Samaritans and Pieta House are just a few and remember the weekend will be here before you know it!
