Best Dressed:

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid seems to constantly be winning at street style, even in the freezing weather, which usually tests the true style skills of any fashion lover. Opting for a pair of her beloved black leather ankle boots, she added ripped black jeans, a tailored black coat and an oversized knitted turtleneck to keep her face out from the cold. Black on black seems to be the ultimate ‘cool girl’ trend of the moment, one we can all easily pull off.

Mac x Mariah Carey:

lipstick

Just in time for the festive season, Mariah Carey has teamed up with the Mac gods to grace us with an exclusive, glittery makeup line. The ‘All I Want’ singer released a lipstick with the brand last year of the same name as her most famous song and now is preparing to launch a collection which includes an eyeshadow palette, an eyeliner, lipsticks, lipglosses, a bronzer and a blush shade. Even though the original ‘All I Want’ lipstick received criticism for being too shimmery, the collection seems to have disregarded these comments, as the product packaging is covered in a white glitter design. Mariah stated that although the collection will be released right before the holidays, her line won’t have any reds or greens, as she prefers natural lip colours and makeup that enhances natural beauty. As with all Mac limited collections, this is also predicted to sell out the second it hits shelves- or rather, Mac drawers.

Marilyn Monroe’s Happy Birthday Mr President Dress Sells for $4.8m:

marmoe

The dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang Happy Birthday to John F Kennedy in 1962 has sold for $4.8m at an action in Los Angeles. It sold to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum chain, so the dress will remain accessible for the public to see. This is a record breaking number, as it is now the highest price ever paid for a dress, surpassing her famous white subway dress which sold for $4.6m in 2011. Monroe wore her Mr President dress on the celebration night of JFK’s 45th birthday party in New York, it is covered in over 2,500 crystals and was so tight, that the actress had to be sown into it on the night. She died three months later, however her legacy still lives on to this day.
