Skipper’s Revenge are a self-described six-piece ensemble with “three main priorities: playing good music, having a good time and tearing up the music scene with energy driven gigs.”
The band is comprised of singer and guitarist Michael D’Arcy, pianist Thomas McFeeney, drummer Milo Martin, bassist Cain Butler, – and the thing that really sets them apart – their brass section, saxophonist Darragh Butler and trumpeter Fellim Sullivan.

Thanks to their brass section, the band has a truly unique sound you don’t hear much in the indie scene.
Having previously sold out two gigs in the sound house, Skipper’s Revenge recently headlined in the Grand Social Club supported by Arabú and the Becks.

The gig absolutely lived up to everything they promised in their “three priorities.” The music itself was amazing. Both their original songs and covers were expertly done and filled with energy. They let the brass instruments shine, but the songs were still well rounded with none of the other instruments falling too far into the background.
The energy of each member, especially the lead singer, is what really made the gig. They were bursting with energy and had the stage presence of a band that’s been at it for decades.
They debuted their new single ‘Cheese Toastie’ at the gig. A lengthened version of a jingle they wrote for a radio show two years ago. The song is fun and upbeat with a refreshing sound unique to most young indie bands.
To anyone who’s looking for new music I really recommend checking out ‘Cheese Toastie’ on Spotify or following their instagram @skippers_revenge.band for more gig information.
