Starting college can be daunting. You’re in a new place where you probably don’t know anyone. Even though college campuses are a lot bigger than your school, you can still easily meet people and make friends. Here are a few tips to help you get started.

Chat to the person next to you in class

You both have chosen to take the same class or at least the same subject for a reason. It’s already something you have in common so it’s a great conversation starter. Ask them simple questions like where they’re from, how they’re finding college etc.

Join group chats

Group chats tend to be where nights out for courses are arranged, people share information on assignments, and simply start to get to know each other. If no one has made a group chat yet for your course or your accomadation then why not make one yourself?

Join a sports team/society

Every college has loads of sports and clubs you can get involved with. Usually they’ll have stalls at the Freshers fair where you can sign up and ask questiosn. Societies also usually have free items they give out when you sign up. Go to the fair, get some free totebags, pizza, and even contraception. Just what every student needs.
