It’s November, the worst month for students. Assignments are piling up, and deadlines are looming. It’s not the ideal time for students to travel, but that doesn’t mean you can still enjoy some time away from the books. Here are 3 student budget friendly activities to try in Dublin.
The National Gallery of Ireland
The National Gallery of Ireland houses the national collection of Irish and European art. It is located in the centre of Dublin with one entrance on Merrion Square, beside Leinster House, and another on Clare Street. It was founded in 1854 and opened its doors ten years later.
The National Art Gallery hosts different art exhibitions throughout the year. The majority of exhibitions are free making it a great choice for students. They are currently displaying a collection of work from Picasso, offering a student price of €8. They also offer free entry every Wednesday 9.15am–11.30am.
Museum of Literature Ireland
The Museum of Literature Ireland, branded MoLI in an homage to Molly Bloom, is a literary museum in Dublin, Ireland. It opened in September 2019. The museum is a partnership between the National Library of Ireland and University College Dublin. It is located in UCD’s Newman House in St Stephen’s Green.
Currently, they have an exhibition called Happy Ever After. The exhibition is a celebration of Irish romance fiction. Student tickets are on offer from €12.00.
