No matter what year of college you’re heading into there are three canon events students simply will not avoid. If you haven’t experienced all three yet-we wish you luck for the next year.
Getting Dumped at the Worst Time
Is there ever a good time to be dumped or heartbroken? No. However, college relationships and situationships are known for ending at REALLY bad times. Think exam season, midterms, applying for internships, a grad role interview, the day before you leave for Erasmus, and so on.
A Group Project Disaster
Even if group projects aren’t common in your course there will always be one. You’ll think everything is going fine until the day before the project is due when you check your shared powerpoint. One member will have done nothing, one will have formatted the slides completely wrong, and the other will still be asking how to reference.
The Easy Elective
“It’s an esay A” your mate said. You were convinced the class would be a doss. If you ever hear this from friends about an elective suggestion, do NOT take it. It won’t be a GPA boost, it’ll be a GPA drain. Whatever field you take this class in will not appear on your transcript again. You’ll be scarred (and humbled) for life.
