This year’s National Student Media Awards took place on June 2nd. On the night Thomas Copeland and Darragh Tibbs from Queens University Belfast took home the Radio Production of the Year Award: News and Current Affairs, sponsored by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.

The BAI has been supporting student radio programs for several years by sponsoring the ‘Radio Production of the Year – News & Current Affairs’ and ‘Radio Production of the Year – Arts & Features’ categories. We are delighted that they have returned to sponsor these awards once again!

The BAI aims to regulate the radio and TV broadcasting sector through its rules and codes and raise the standard of content being produced. They also support events such as The National Student Media Awards to ensure the talent in student media is recognised.

We are delighted that an inspiring and influential organisation like the BAI returned to sponsor the ‘Radio Production of the Year’ categories. This shows that their prolific reputation puts special attention to student radio.
