William McCartney -UCD

William McCartney has loved radio ever since 6th year. Over the last 4 years he has developed a big passion for radio. At home in Churchtown, his family, friends, and co-workers at SuperValu still tune in and join along on with whatever he puts together each week. Cian Griffin – UCD

Cian is from Dublin and currently doing a masters through Irish in UCD. He has a lot of experience working through Irish; with UCD, RTÉ, Raidió Rí-Rá, The University Observer, The College Tribune, and with Nua-Aois 2017-2018. He has been nominated for his part in the podcast Ménage à Triúr which you can listen to here.

Katie Kilgannon- UCD

Katie Kigannon is a 2nd year food science student from Sligo and is involved in a lot of filming of campus events with UCDTV. She has been nominated for her contribution to a 3 part series called UCDTV: Empowering Women, which is a video series centered around International Women’s Day. She created the final video in the series, which focused on the Me Too movement which came to the spotlight recently regarding sexual harassment. You can watch it here.

Ciara Muphy and Genievieve warren – UCC

Ciara and Genievieve host the weekly breakfast show Freshly Squeezed Fridays on UCC 98.3fm. They met in their first year of college when they were introduced to each other in the radio station and immediately decided they needed to do a show together and for the past 3 years, they have. Ciara is studying English and Sociology and Genievieve is studying Music with English, both are in their final year of college. To have a listen to their entry, click here.

Aoife Hardesty – UCD

Originally from Minnesota, Aoife grew up in Owning, Co. Kilkenny. Aoife is the editor the University Observer, and one of her biggest claim to fame is the fact that she broke the ‘Wingin It’ scandal which led to the impeachment of the UCDSU president Katie Ascough. She has been nominated for her pieces about the impeachment and other breaking news about UCD which you can read an example of here.
