Here at the National Student Media Awards, we are delighted to announce our newest partner for the 2023 SMEDIAs – Virgin Media! Not only have they decided to join us, but they’re bringing two new categories with them as well!
Virgin Media leads the way in terms of entertainment cable and broadcast in Ireland. Home to ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’, Virgin Media is a major endorser of everything and anything music, television, and entertainment.
Virgin Media Ireland has agreed to two new categories, investing in student journalism, and searching for some of the best, new talent out there!
The two new categories are as follows:
The Virgin Media Belonging Award:
This award would recognise a reporter/ producer who champions DE+I (Diversity, Equality and Inclusion), through their content whether that is radio, print, online or television. We would ask candidates to submit any form of media covering a topic that they are passionate about.
The Virgin Media Digital Content Creator Award:
Candidates must submit 3 video clips under 30 seconds, all relating to a different topic. These clips must be attention-grabbing and should showcase video editing, journalistic and storytelling talent.
