We all know somebody with the gift of the gab, who have been doing mock-presenting jobs with a hairbrush microphone and an audience of teddies since they could string a sentence together.

Well, RTÉ2 is offering outgoing individuals such as these the chance to make a name for themselves in Irish television. They are looking for bright, bubbly and fun new media talent to help represent the diversity of contemporary Ireland.

The RTÉ2 New Voices Award at this year’s National Student Media Awards is a chance for students to showcase their talent through the medium of television. The winner will receive not only a coveted Smedia Award, but also an internship at the RTÉ2 studios.

The overall winner will receive the fantastic prize of a work placement with RTÉ Television during the coming summer, where they will be given mentored production training, both on and off screen, across a variety of departments.

Do you think you or one of your pals could be the next big thing, and would like to hone your talent as a presenter? Then send us in a video showcasing your skills in front of the camera.

We need a 2 minute video of you just doing your thaaang. If you have previous presenting experience then a showreel of your previous projects would be ideal. But if not, DON’T FRET – you can do a mock up piece the camera, discussing whatever the heck your little heart desires. The videos DO NOT have to be professional, you can interview your mam using your iPhone or even just talk a bit about why you think you could be the next big thing in Irish presenting.

PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATIONS CAN BE FILMED ON A SMARTPHONE.

Plus, there’s no fee to enter!!! So… What are you waiting for? Get filming!

It can be filmed on whatever you like – but you need to upload it onto Youtube, Vimeo or other video hosting sites before sending on your entry.

If interested, send in a link to your video to admin@generationy.ie.
