It seems that ‘black on black’ was the trend of the evening at this year’s MTV Movie Awards. From supermodels Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne to funny woman Rebel Wilson, head to toe black was everywhere on the night.
Here are the best all-black looks of the night:
Cara Delevingne
Cara stunned in a velvet Balmain jumpsuit with sheer panels across the chest. Teamed with simple black pointed-toe stilettos and vampy make-up, Ms Delevingne was by far the best-dressed on the MTV red carpet.
Gigi Hadid
Gigi opted to wear a suit to the award show. Her high-waisted pin striped Versace pants and blazer combo looked much more supermodel-chic than 9 to 5 bleugh on her tall, lean frame. Gigi added a pop of colour too her outfit in the form of a yellow blouse peaking out from behind the blazer.
Although she was modelling a new hairstyle on the night Gigi has a tendency of shocking fans by showing up to award shows with drastic changes to her hair only then to admit that it was in fact a wig. So I wouldn’t be taking out the scissors to copy her just yet!
Lizzy Caplan
Lizzy looked almost unrecognizable in her floor length Sally LaPointe gown. Her figure-hugging sequined gown was the perfect combination of feminine and gothic. She has certainly come a long way since her Janis Ian days.
Kendall Jenner
Olivier Rousteing is a young celeb favourite when it comes to fashion. Not only did Cara decide to wear one of his pieces but Kendall also went for a Balmain piece. Her sheer black Balmain dress was not the talk of the evening however, it was her thigh-high strappy DSquared2 heels that caught everyone’s attention. Requiring a team of two to tie them around her legs, it’s no surprise they garnered so much attention.
