Tattoos look cool; there’s no arguing against that but please be careful.

Your body is fairly important and you really don’t want to mess it up for the sake of decoration. There’s nothing wrong with it, so long as you do it right.

However, one Canadian model has shown exactly the damage one can do if you don’t do it properly.

Canadian model Catt Gallinger is now at risk at losing her eye after a botched tattoo caused it to cry purple tears and dramatically swell.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Gallinger spoke about she got the tattoo on her sclera (the white part of the eye) from her boyfriend before residue started to escape.

Gallinger than began to cry purple tears, which she says is believed to have been caused by over-injection and undiluted ink.

She told Metro that she wanted to get the tattoo in order to “feel more at home in my body” but has now insisted that the entire procedure was a massive mistake.

Gallinger revealed through Instagram she has now had surgery, but is at risk of losing her eye completely if her cornea ruptures.

She recently updated that after several weeks, pain and irritation in her eye have lessened but her eyesight has not improved.

The model has now urged followers to take care when considering getting any tattoos or body modifications.

“Just please be cautious who you get your mods from and do your research. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else,” she said.

If it was a Halloween costume, this would take first prize but the real-life horror of this would make you think twice about putting a needle anywhere near you.

Granted, you’d have to be pretty extreme to let the safest of tattoo artists near your eye in the first place. I think I’ll stick to the fake Pokemon ones from our childhood…
