That’s a wrap for The National Student Media Awards this year, and what a night it was! Waterford IT student, Kevin O Grady took home the Gearrfhíséan Dátheangach na Bliana (Short Form Bi-lingual) award at the Smedias, sponsored by BLOC TG4.

BLOC is an Irish language social media video hub aimed at audiences aged 16-25+. BLOC hosts, showcases and commissions innovative and creative Irish language content for young people by young people, covering everything from gaming, to short films, spoken word, film reviews, travel vlogs and much more.

The winner of this category will win three prizes. They’ll receive the coveted student media award, a €500 prize and the opportunity to become a content creator for BLOC… or BLOCadóir!

We were delighted to partner with BLOC TG4 at this year’s awards. We’d like to thank them once again for their sponsorship as it supports students creating Irish language content.
