Oxygen.ie is Ireland’s number one student website, and is also home to the country’s favourite satirical e-zine, The Spanner. The website covers a wide range of content, including sports, entertainment, style, satire and college news.
We are currently looking for a new Deputy Editor for the website, to be filled as soon as possible.
Candidates will require:
- Excellent organisational skills
- Competent writing skills
- The ability to write in a humorous/light-hearted manner
- The ability to delegate tasks and work on their own initiative
- The ability to work to a deadline
- Must be able to work alone or as part of a team
This is a part time role and can easily be worked around a college schedule. Most of the work can be done from home or college by email, however there will be several contact hours a week in our office in Rathmines. It will offer the chance for you to gain editorial experience while working in a fun and friendly office environment.
Roles will include the following:
- Assisting in editing various articles to be published on the site
- Assisting in sourcing contributors and keeping in touch with existing contributors
- Creating original content for the site
- Delegating stories to contributors
- Listening to pitches sent in by contributors
