Looking for something a little bit different to do this weekend? Look no further. Forget Match of the Day or Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, there’s been plenty of new entertainment arrivals to our shores in recent weeks as this article testifies.

We’ve got three interesting new additions that are guaranteed to keep you and your flatmates amused in one way or another!

1) NOW TV Launches In Ireland:

The non-contract online television subscription service, NOW TV, owned by Sky, has launched in Ireland five years after its successful unveiling in the UK.

With a comprehensive streaming service, millions of sports, movies and entertainment fans can take advantage of the chance to stream a variety of shows, from Hollywood blockbusters to exclusive live sporting events.

The NOW TV box turns your television into a Smart TV – if it isn’t already! – including the option to utilise a range of catch-up TV apps such as All 4, TV3’s 3player, as well as online streaming apps such as Vevo and YouTube.

For student sports fans who can’t afford the monthly cost of Sky Sports but want the flexibility to be able to watch a particular game or event, NOW TV could be just for you. Day, week-long and monthly passes for Sky Sports cost €10, €15 and €50 respectively.

2) Mr Green Casino Available To Irish Customers:

For those who like to play games, online casino MrGreen Casino Ireland has just launched to customers here. MrGreen Casino was voted the Best Mobile Casino in the World at the 2016 Gaming Awards. Users can play roulette and blackjack in real time with live dealers or try out one of the hundreds of slot games available on the site – some are based on TV shows such as Game of Thrones or comic book icons like Batman and Green Lantern.

MrGreen Casino is not an entirely unfamiliar name to the students of Ireland. Back in 2014, the online casino operator became the main shirt sponsor for leading Republic of Ireland football team, Bohemian FC, the country’s oldest league club.

3) Healthy Fast-Food Chain Freshii Arrives In The North:

A leading global healthy fast-food chain has unveiled plans to launch ten new restaurants in the north, generating dozens of new jobs for the local economy.

Freshii has opened its first ever outlet in Northern Ireland at Donegall Square West in Belfast city centre, with a further nine more expected to open in the coming months throughout major shopping malls and towns, such as The Quays Shopping Centre in Newry.

Freshii is already popular among healthy fast-food lovers in the south, with the brand currently operating three outlets in Dublin city centre, as well as another at the M1 Applegreen service station at Lusk.

From healthy breakfast options such as frozen yoghurt, smoothies and fresh juices to lunchtime bites such as burritos, salad bowls and wraps, Freshii could be an interesting alternative to Big Macs and chips, once in a while!
