Applications for this year’s National Student Media Awards are now open and we are delighted that Science Foundation of Ireland (SFI) has returned to sponsor the Journalism Relating to Science and Technology award at this year’s National Student Media Awards.

The winner of this award will receive €1000 that has been generously donated by SFI and an award for producing work that has a clear understanding of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and showcases the innovative work being done in Irish science.

SFI’s goal is to nurture the development of the science industry in Ireland. Commissioned by the government in 1998, The SFI believes that STEM fields impact our daily lives and economy as a whole. That is why they strive to develop Ireland into one of the global leaders of scientific development and research.

We at the National Student Media Awards are proud to be a part of the important work being done by SFI by hosting the Journalism Relating to Science and Technology award. Submissions for this category will be opening early 2021 so get thinking about what you could write to be in with a chance of winning.
