The National Student Media Awards 2021 are fast approaching and TG4 BLOC has returned to sponsor the “Short Form Bilingual Video” award to help promote and commission content creators all around Ireland.

The social hub of TG4, BLOC is an Irish language multi-social media platform video hub for 18-35-year olds. BLOC makes new edgy, thought-provoking Irish language content with young adults for young adults.

Since it’s inception, TG4 BLOC has scouted, trained and commissioned over 50 new young Irish language content creators (BLOCadóirí) and their content continues to reach thousands of people each week via BLOC’s FacebookTwitter, IGTV, Instagram, YouTube & TikTok channels. Their dedication to produce high quality programs in Irish has won them various awards both in Ireland and internationally. In 2017, Rock Ros Muc won Best Feature Documentary in the Boston Irish Film Festival and was also longlisted for the 2018 Oscars.

The best video will not only be awarded a prize of €500 euro but will also have the opportunity to become a content creator for BLOC… or BLOCadóir as it’s called!

Submissions to enter this award do not have to be in Irish. This category is flexible and will accept audio-visual projects that are creative, high-quality, entertaining and in Irish with English.

The opening date for submissions is March 1st, the closing date is the April 15th and the event will be held in June.
