The Irish government released it’s re-opening plan for the country recently. Among those re-opening plans was the mention of bars and restaurants.

The government’s re-opening plan said this about opening bars and restaurants:

“A number of higher-risk activities will be considered at the end of June for later in the year including:

  • Indoor hospitality such as restaurants, bars, nightclubs, casinos.

The further easing of restrictions from July onwards will depend on vaccine rollout and uptake, as well as the emerging evidence about new Covid-19 variants.”

Although this is one big maaaaaaybe, outdoor dining has a higher chance of happening this Summer. From June 7th outdoor services in bars and restaurants can recommence, with sector specific safety measures in place.

We know all you students are pure dying to get back into SU bars. We’ll have updates on whether or not we can return to them this September.
