Students can often barely afford the trip they’re taking nevermind extra luggage fees. Here are a few tips for packing to avoid the fees for extra bags.

Roll clothes instead of folding

Rolling clothes helps to save space and prevents wrinkles!

Wear your bulkiest items on travel day

If you’re bringing a hoodie or pair of jeans then wear them while travelling. You’ll likely feel the cold on a plane more than by the pool anyway.

Use all available space

You can stuff socks, underwear, and small items such as cables inside shoes. This frees up space in the case for other objects.

Limit shoes to 2-3 pairs

You can pick one pair to wear while travelling and pack the rest. Pick at least one pair of trainers incase you end doing a lot of walking. Select another pair that are a bit more dressy incase you go to a formal place.

Pack your ISIC Card

The ISIC card has been sold in Ireland since the 1970’s. Their mission is to develop and deliver to students a wide variety of benefits and advantages covering all areas of culture, entertainment, leisure, sports, and travel. The card is recognised by universities, academic institutions, student organisations, national governments, and ministries of education around the world. The card is a great companion for travel as it offers a variety of discounts and can be used as a form of ID. Click here for more info.
