So you’ve made the pancakes (and eaten them all) now it’s time to give up something for Lent. Your Granny would say chocolate, your bank would say shopping. Here at Oxygen, I’ve come up with an ‘alternative’ list of things you should give up for Lent.

Its March now, no one will notice if you aren’t in the gym. Give up that new years resolution that nobody ever keeps past the 1st of February.

2. Your ex

Give up your ex’es number. Delete it. Throw your phone in the bin. They are an ex for a reason.

3. Wish

Online shopping is the done thing now. You can buy anything anytime in a click of a button. And yes Wish is super handy for getting things super cheap, but when its 4 in the morning and you’re still scrolling to find the perfect t-shirt, its time to delete the app.

4. Sub-tweeting

If you live in Ireland, you know that in the last week, we have experienced three different seasons. Climate change is real and we need to become more sustainable to combat it. Plastic bags can take from 20 to 1000 years to decompose so a great alternative is to get a reusable bag. You can get these in a lot of places from as little as four euro. Reusable cups and plastic-free alternatives are becoming more available so we really have no excuse to not give up plastic for good.
