The Squeakquel soundtrack review

Alvin And The Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel Soundtrack features the talents of The Chipmunks and The Chipettes: two bands who are completely heliumed out of it...this soundtrack album is not one for a hangover.

The album features a tremendous set of cover songs all performed in the only lovely highpitched tones of The Chipmunks and The Chipettes. It could be considered a great introduction to pop music for children as it contains hits from recent times and way back when mammy and daddy would have been getting their groove on.

Beyonce's Single Ladies, The Bee Gees Staying Alive, Foreigner's I Wanna Know What Love Is and Black Eyed Peas hot hit I Gotta Feeling are all featured and have been completely battered and bruised by these animated rodents.

Need one point out that this abomination would only encourage a headache and any other ailments. Beyoncé's hit Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) has been bitten at and abused to sound like she is on some extreme speed and perhaps crack cocaine, well whatever substance it be it's not a good result for those of us who might consider themselves to be of an eclectic taste.

Worryingly enough it is Single Ladies that is by far the best song on the album, perchance because it is one of the more successful tracks on the album and it sounds most amusing to the ear. There's something enchanting about high pitched chart music especially when you play The Chipettes version back to back with the Beyoncé version.

This album, for health reasons, is not for the faint hearted, or the old at heart or in fact anyone of us over the age of 6 unless maybe drugs and alcohol are involved and you're feeling particularly annoying.

You've been warned. Enjoy with caution.
