The Losers review

The Losers opens with an elite US Special Forces Unit getting screwed in Bolovia by some bastard known as Max. They are immediately presumed dead and they take on the challenge of getting back into the U.S.A. to seek out the prick who fucked them over.

The come upon a mysterious piece of eye candy known as Aisha and with her help they set about their adventure but all is not as it seems when it comes to trust, friendship and allegiances.

The film stars the strong posse including Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana and Chris Evans (not of TFI Friday-fame) which together form a strong cast which allow for some humourous activity at times.

The character of Jensen played by Chris Evans is as my brother quotes, “an idol among men” particularly because of his awkward monologues, whopper gun-action scenes and amusing singing.

The film is full of some unexpected twists which is always good in an action picture and the film is full of action from start to finish.

This film is certainly a one for the lads through and through, it’s full of humour that men just love and packed with guns, action, bombs and battle-filled commotion that makes it entertaining from beginning to end.

As a female viewer I must admit the film was somewhat lost on me and I’m not sure my womanly brain fully “got” the concept of the film – surely this Max fella could be easier stopped and where did all their weapons come from anyway??

I guess the point of this film is to entertain the men and forget the women and it plays wonderfully to that. Action-filled with a few funny bits it does whatever job it is that it set out to do.
