The NBA finals are over, we’ve seen some truly extraordinary plays and players. Golden State Warriors may have beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA finals but, it wasn’t just GSW players that showed some slick skills and great moments on the court during the season, so here are my 2016-2017 NBA season highlights.

1) When Dion Waiters (Miami Heat) hit a 3-pointer over the Warriors:

Recognised as someone who does things in the heat of the moment, this was something else. He’s one of the NBA’s greatest shooting guards and I’m sure he will do the same thing next season! The fact that he did it just on the buzzer really shocked both Miami Heat fans and Golden State Warrior fans too.

2) DeMarcus Cousins and Joel Embiid, The NBA’s BFF’s:

These players Are the NBA’s most delightful pair of new best friends. They will definitely put a smile on your face. Their fun rivalry and smart remarks are hilarious.

“He’s got a great chance of being best big in this league… after I retire”- DeMarcus Cousins

Definitely the best bromance of this year season.

3) Record-breaking 3-pointers from the amazing Stephen Curry:

Probably why you’ll hear Warriors fans chanting “M-V-P! M-V-P’ he is renowned for them solid 3 pointers! They’ll leave you in awe.

Moment of silence for his crazy dance moves too.

Even Kevin Durant joined in. Best dance collab of the season, I think so.

4) Giannis Antetokounmpo’s buzzer-beater at Madison Square Garden:

We all know them buzzer-beaters can cause some serious adrenaline. This was special, The Buck’s player also known as The ‘Greek Freak’ hit a crazy wild buzzer – beater. The step back was out of this world! He really mastered and developed this counter move. He’s one to look out for.

5) TNT’s emotional Craig Sager tribute:

Craig Sager died after a years-long fight with leukaemia. TNT paid tribute to the beloved NBA sideline reporter, with a five-minute eulogy. The eulogy, was narrated by Ernie Johnson. “Something special happens when people follow their passions, when they always greet everyone with a smile, when they treat everyone as a friend.’’  His on camera savvy will always be remembered amongst the NBA family and really shows us how passionate a reporter can be.

The NBA drafts are in and I’m ready to become a basketball wife.

The 2017 NBA draft was held on June 22, 2017, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The record-setting 16 freshmen taken in the first 30 picks, compared with just two seniors.

These players were being scouted and watched even in their highschool years, from the time they are 16-17 years old. The best thing is that after the scouts bounce back ideas and overview the players’ work, when they hit 20- 21 they have the possibility of getting drafted for an NBA team.

This is where the generational talents are supposed to be found, so we should expect the best and some new exciting players next season. The scouts overview their progression in their basketball games and have been for a while so like every year. It’s going to be an exciting season.

Here’s some of the highlights.
