We were delighted to have TG4 and Údarás na Gaeltachta as joint sponsors of the Léiriúcháin Teilifíse i nGaeilge- Faisnéis agus Drámaíocht award at this years Smedias.
TG4 is the only Irish speaking television channel in Ireland. Established in 1996, TG4 has been one of the biggest influences in promoting the Irish language across the country. With an annual 20 million euro investment into original Irish programming to help promote the Irish language throughout the country, TG4 has gone from strength to strength in developing shows to help boost the use of the Irish language across Ireland.
Údarás na Gaeltachta joined TG4 as sponsors of this award at the Smedias 2018. Údarás na Gaeltachta are an agency that promotes the Irish language across the country as well as as well as the economic, social and cultural development of Irish speaking areas in Ireland. In the last few months, The agency funded €60,000 to Fanad Light House in Donegal to attract more visitors to the area. This is just one of the many examples of funding that the agency has done to boost tourism for remote areas across the country.
