Edge Of Darkness is proof that you shouldn't buy into the hype of Mel Gibson's alleged personal life that is splashed over the gossip columns and headlines and how it might have affected his what-seems-like innate talent: the man has still got it! In this film he was only bleedin' whopper.
The film is most certainly a thriller and has some tremendous suspense-filled and shocking moments, it also has some slightly all too cheesy heart-felt moments but less of that, for now!
The story is based around the concept of U.S. Government secrets and how their C.I.A. and F.B.I. do not have to follow their personal moral instincts but rather the morale of the government in order to protect and "better" their country.
The film kind of shows you that September 11th could have been an inside job without actually ever having any reference to the incident. We follow Gibson's character Thomas Craven as he tries to uncover why his daughter died, that's a spoiler right there by the by but that's not necessarily important, the shock of her killing is great!
Edge Of Darkness is a great film in which lads could bring their delicate lady-friends to give them a bit of an oul shock and then reap the rewards in cuddles later. Gigity!
This is a jump out of your seat, hide behind your coat or hands type of film, with some disgusting heart felt moments which supposedly gives you a small break from the main story-line but it only seemed to obscure the ending...anyway this one is great so GO GO GO and enjoy!
