Man has improved opinion of product following Georgia Salpa bikini photoshoot

Boozey Snooze available at all good stores now

A young Irishman has revealed that his feelings towards a brand new product have changed dramatically after seeing a promotional photo shoot with model Georgia Salpa.

Seamus ‘Sheamo’ Kelly, had previously been aware of ‘Boozy Snooze’, an alcohol based insomnia cure but had never felt the need to purchase it.

That all changed after he saw pictures of a promotional photoshoot for the brand, which was featured in the news section of several Irish tabloid newspapers, pushing minor details such as the threat to the eurozone economy into the brief news section.

Model du jour, the finely proportioned Georgia Salpa, was promoting ‘Boozy Snooze’ wearing not many clothes which may have encouraged Kelly’s change of heart.

“Jaysis did you see yer wan Salpia in de paper?,” enthused Kelly. “Some set on her for a skinny bird. Do you think they’re real?

“I’m going to get a crate of that Boozy Snooze shtuff, they give you a free poster of her if you buy twenty four bottles. Might be a bit of craic if you mix it with Bucky.”

Irish marketing guru Konor Murfy (or Conor Murphy as he was christened) defended the practice of using skimpily clad models to promote products, saying that they were simply giving consumers what they want.

“It’s time to move on goys,” said Murfy. “It’s not repressive catholic Ireland any more. If a product wants to get a bit of attention by feeding newspapers ready made shots of birds in their knickers then who’s to say that’s wrong? You can’t spell sexist without sex. Am I right dudes or am I right?!

“There’s no evidence that these photo shoots do anything other than raise awareness of people who would have been consumers of the products anyway.

“Though admittedly, it was a bit strange that all those young men were buying tampons last week. Georgia wasn’t meant to do the shoot for that one.”

A spokesperson for the Association of Outraged Conservatives said “We are extremely concerned at the practice of shameless commercial promotion through the exploitation of the female body. Now excuse me for a minute, I need to take this newspaper to the jacks to uh... check the racing results. Yes, that’s it.”

Miami named most miserable U.S. city

(Reuters) - Warm sun, white beaches, and million-dollar mansions notwithstanding, Miami has captured the dubious distinction of being the most miserable city in the United States, according to a new poll.

The playground of the rich and famous is home to a crippling housing crisis, one of the highest crime rates in the country, and lengthy daily commutes for workers, all of which have propelled it to the No. 1 position in the Forbes.com list.

"Miami has sun and beautiful weather but other things make people miserable. You have this two-tier society: glitzy South Beach attracts celebrities, but the income inequality has skyrocketed in recent years," explained Forbes Senior Editor Kurt Badenhausen.

The rankings are based on factors including jobless rates, violent crime, foreclosures, income and property taxes, as well as considerations like weather, commute time and political corruption.

Reeling for decades from the decline of the U.S. auto industry, Michigan's troubled duo of Detroit and Flint registered at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, among the most miserable cities.

"Detroit and Flint are struggling," said Badenhausen. "Violent crime is highest in the country in Detroit; housing prices are down 55 percent. Detroit is closing schools and laying off policemen. In recent years they have been demolishing houses to change their city landscapes"

West Palm Beach, Florida and Sacramento, California rounded out the top five cities.

"We're trying to judge cities where residents have a lot of complaints. It doesn't mean that there aren't terrific things there," he said.

And for the haves Miami's charms remain undiminished.

"The one percent in Miami is doing fantastic. But for the vast majority, who make less than $75,000 (a year), Miami can be a challenging place," he said. "Forty-seven percent of homeowners sit on underwater mortgages. That's tough."
