With only a handful of Occupy protesters remaining at the Dame Street Square, many had been curious as to how they were going about physically surviving; and it has now emerged that some benevolent merchants from the locality have been secretly providing them with
nocturnal nourishment.

Luigi, a chef at the small pizza place Don Mario's just down from The Foggy Dew, came clean to The Spanner in the hope that the stragglers would do the right thing and check themselves into hospital for a fortnight before returning to civilized society.

''I became worried when walking past one of the tents on night after work,'' explained Luigi.
I heard two voices speaking in tongues so I ventured over to see if somebody was in the midst of an attack of the vapors. Initially they hissed at me, saying I was ''one of them'' because I am complicit in the selling of goods, but after much heated debate, they agreed to allow me bring them food - on condition that is was organic and that I prove it is not ''conflict pizza'', whatever that is. They don't believe in packaging either so the only resolution was for them to devour tomato sauce from my hands.''

Luigi has tried to explain to them that now that they have suckled at the teat of capitalism, their ethos has been contravened and it is time to go home, but to no avail.

''They have an answer for everything,'' laments Luigi. ''Now they want me to bring them pints of Guinness from The Foggy Dew, claiming this would still be within their limits of ''minimal sustenance'' as laid down in the Communist Manifesto or some shit like that. I hope they leave soon; their haunted cadaverous staring is bad for business.''

One group who has had enough of the protesters are ''Emos of Dublin'', a newly formed syndicate representing the Gothic teenagers who used to congregate and generally be up to no good at the Dame Street Square, before the Movement came along unannounced and turfed them out of their cultural space.

KoЯnor O' Bizcit, the group's shop steward, has said they are ''examining all available locations'', though they would ideally relocate to their original space as opposed to polluting a new area with their presence.
