Entire nation of Ireland exposed as vast paedophile ring

Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald, has called the latest revelation 'regrettable'

The Irish people were left stunned this week with the shocking news that the entire nation has in fact, for many years, been an elaborate paedophile ring. Signs of trouble first became apparent following the release of the Cloyne report, in which it was revealed that the Catholic Church was actually only the administration wing of a much wider network of paedophiles permeating Irish society to its very core. This was followed by news of an incident in Donegal in which the sex offenders register was actually being used as a resource for the allocation of jobs to sex predators seeking to work near children—However, it has been claimed that because the work was cash-in-hand in this particular case, the sex abuse “doesn’t count”.

Later in the week, paedophilia became a hot topic among the mainstream populace when it was revealed that a certain high-profile Presidential candidate was not only “hypothetically sympathetic towards certain forms of sexual interaction between men and boys under specific hypothetical circumstances,” but that he actively intervened in an actual case involving a statutory rape. The story quickly became the biggest divisive issue since Roy Keane stormed out of an Irish training camp in Saipan, with people debating endlessly on social networking sites about whether or not it was right to have sex with people who are under the age of consent.

However, the situation became even more complex when it was revealed that said Presidential hopeful was actually duty-bound as a representative of the State to interfere in the case as a result of rules and regulations outlined in the ‘secret paedophile constitution of the Irish Republic’. News of the secret constitution was initially met with near universal disbelief, but its existence was apparently confirmed when details were revealed of a previous incident in which Fine Gael TD Pat Breen submitted a written parliamentary question to then “Justice” Minister Michael McDowell, enquiring about when a convicted paedophile might be eligible for early release. “This sort of thing is done all the time” said one government advisor, “people like to blame the influence of the Church in Ireland but in actual fact it’s the tail that wags the dog.”

Crowds of non-paedophiles gathered outside the Dail as a result of the revelation, demanding that the secret constitution be torn up. “I can’t believe we never realized the entire nation was in on it but the signs were always there I guess, I mean how many countries have a ‘Minister for Children’ for God’s sake?” said one visibly upset protestor. There are apparently now plans being made to rebrand the recent census as a de facto tribunal investigating the nationwide paedophile ring, in the hope that it will save some money in the current financial difficulties.

Topless Ukraine activist grabs Euro Cup

(Reuters) - A Ukrainian women's rights activist stripped to the waist and seized the Euro-2012 soccer trophy while it was on public display in Kiev on Saturday in a protest against the forthcoming month-long championship.

The young woman, 23-year-old Yulia Kovpachik, is a member of the Kiev-based Femen women's rights group which believes the Euro-2012 soccer tournament being played in Ukraine next month will encourage sex tourism.

Kovpachik strode up to the silver, 60 centimeter (two feet) high trophy, which was on display as a tourist attraction in an open air exhibition in central Kiev, ostensibly to be photographed alongside it like hundreds of other sightseers.

But she then pulled down her red T-shirt to reveal the words "Fuck Euro 2012" scrawled on her torso. As she grabbed hold of the cup with both hands, she was seized by security guards, who appeared to have had advanced warning of the protest.

They covered her with a sheet and took her off to a waiting police car.

The protest appeared to be the first action in a campaign against the championship by Femen which regularly stages bare-breast protests in Ukraine - and sometimes beyond - to highlight what it sees as political injustice, social abuse and the exploitation of women in Ukraine.

Femen says Euro-2012, which Ukraine is co-hosting with Poland next month with the final in Kiev on July 1, will be a magnet for sex tourists - one of the group's main targets - and will feed a booming sex industry.

About one million foreign tourists are expected in Ukraine for the Euros.

Organisers said the 8 kg (17 lbs) Henri Delaunay cup was undamaged though Kovpachik appeared to topple back under its weight as security guards seized her. It was still on show in late evening.

Femen's spokeswoman, Anna Gutsol, said Kovpachik, who staged the protest on her 23rd birthday, was released after being told she would have to appear in court on Monday on a charge of hooliganism. The charge carries a maximum fine of 800 hryvnias ($100) and 15 days detention.

Conscious of Ukraine's growing reputation as a new destination for sex tourism, Euro-2012 organisers say they are taking steps to curb prostitution during the month-long tournament.

After Kovpachik's protest, Femen activist Olexandra Shevchenko told reporters: "We came here today to stop this Euro fan low-life from making a bordello out of Ukraine."

City authorities have mounted the trophy in a temporary exhibition area on Kiev's Independence Square.

Hundreds of sightseers were queuing up under the blazing sun for souvenir photographs alongside it when Kovpachik staged her demonstration.

Independence Square itself will be the centre of a huge 'fan-zone' during Euro-2012, capable of holding tens of thousands of football supporters.
