Once again, Oxygen.ie is thrilled to be partnering with the Road Safety Authority to present the RSA Award for Journalism on Road Safety!

2017 was the best year for road safety in recorded history; a 13% drop in fatalities in Ireland’s roads resulted in the lowest figure since 1959!

We’ve no doubt that the work that writers and journalists do, such as the applicants for this award, plays a part in the continued improvement in safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the country.

However, with 159 fatalities still being recorded in 2017, we must acknowledge that there is still work that must be done!
