Belsonic 2011 preview

Belsonic 2011 Line-up announced

One of Northern Ireland’s biggest music events Belsonic in association with Absolut vodka is set to return this August with Elbow, The Specials, Primal scream, Dizzee Rascal and Plan B + Katy B all confirmed as headline acts. The festival takes place over 5 nights in Belfast’s Custom House Square with Dizzee Rascal kicking off proceedings on Wednesday August 17th.

On Friday August 19th Primal Scream will perform their groundbreaking album Screamadelica. This is the 20th anniversary of the album which was awarded the first ever Mercury Music Prize

After the enormous success of their Dublin show on March 21st, Elbow will return for the festival, taking to the stage on August 24th.
 

 

The Specials

Ben Drew better known as Plan B, will take to the stage on August 25th. Drew won a Brit award last year for his hip-hop concept album The Defamation Of Strickland Banks, one of the top-selling releases of.

To close the festival The Specials will take the stage on August 27th. Best known for their songs Ghost Town, A Message to you Rudy and Rat Race, pioneered the UK ska revival scene in the 1970s.

Tickets for Primal Scream, Elbow and The Specials are due to go on sale Friday April 8th and are acailable through belsonic.com, and The Stiff Kitten. If you’re hoping to see Dizzee Rascal or Plan B tickets are available now through the same outlets.
